Ildar has the Uzbek OLIMBOEV… younger kid who has a couple of age level continental medals… one would think ildar would handle him, but, ildar tends to come up really small in international competition and he is now 38 years old…
Peak opens up with the Uzbek BAKHRAMOV… bronze at seniors in 23… 24 olympian… wrestled for a couple of medals in the ranking series last year… this will be Peak’s first ever international senior tourney… good kid but has never broken through domesitcally…

Nutter opens with the Georgian KHOZREVANIDZ… 5th at U20 in 2024… Nutter beat otto in the finals of vegas last year in otto’s first time at 67… nutter does have a bronze at U20 in 2019 but has struggled to get any results since… two years off before he showed up in vegas last year… went 0-1 at senior pan ams last year and 0-1 at seniors… i do not have any real expectations but i hope he shows up… great family and all the nutter and black boys are good friends…
Otto has a bye and will face either the Uzbek Koshkar or Norway’s Thoresen… Thorsen was a euro champ back in 2021 but has not had any results to speak of since… Koshkar actually pinned Otto last year after Otto made a silly mistake in par terre… i do not expect either to present any real threats to Otto tomorrow, but, i feel that way all the time…

He really is a super nice guy. Not like his bad guy image at all. FRB, who I ran into at concessions and had met several times before, introduced me to him at the NCAA’s semis one year before they had their blow up and stopped being friends. I was not impressed with Joel S. who was with him and seemed super arrogant or slightly drunk … not sure which. Joel has a special needs kid, Ladd who was really excited watching the wrestling. Chael talked to me for quite awhile between rounds. He is like a freakin wrestling history encyclopedia and reminded us about past matches from years earlier that I had completely forgotten about. I felt so bad for him when they lost Blauna. No parent have to should outlive their child.
