For perspective, though, just remember that your boys are competing at a level that most kids only try to bullshit other people about aspiring to. Most kids- even very good and skilled ones, NEVER really have the intention of competing the way your sons do. Especially in Greco Roman. I’ve watched some of the grittiest and toughest FS guys get rag dolled and say “Fuck this” and walk away never to even try Greco Roman again. For what it’s worth, bro, rooting for your two sons the past couple of years has reignited my interest and love for international wrestling outside of the World Championships and Olympics. Thank you, and then, for that. Especially now that Penn State has such a stranglehold on the NCAA that it is borderline not even fun to watch anymore…

i assumed my kids would follow me into racing, but, after it was painfully clear that max was not interested as a youngster we had to start looking for other things…
tried all the typical stick and ball games until one day we walked into the Berryhill Little Chiefs wrestling room when max was 6 and Otto was 4 and immediately fell in love with the sport of wrestling…
over the next couple of years we found out about freestyle and then ultimately greco and have never looked back…
we learned early what the ultimate in wrestling is and every thing since has been just another step towards representing the US at the olympics…
win lose or draw their is no higher honor for an athlete…
