he has one more month and it will all be over…
may do him some well to take a week or 2 off from cutting the weight and focus on the end of year tourneys..he looks huge for 125 but tired after the first period
WV has one more dual left this saturday and then conference…
there just isn’t much left anyway you shake it…

This season has blown by so fast. It seems like we haven’t really seen a lot of wrestling this season, but conference championships are in a couple of weeks now. It’s wild. These guys have full college seasons with less than 20 matches. It’s wild.

i really haven’t paid enough attention to him to say one way or the other…
he won vegas at U20 61kg and sat in the finals of trials waiting for blaze to rough him up 2 matches…
clearly he isn’t a punk…
i know i watched him at least once this season but can’t really say anything other than both him and his brother are super long and lankly…
i know a bunch are high on both…

one of the most exciting wrestlers on the planet… true must watch…

I love this. RAF puts on a good show. As they grow and have access to more talented athletes globally, we should be able to see some phenomenal match-ups.
what are your thoughts on the “freak-show” type matchups they do, though? Guys who are social media influencers on the same card as guys who are multiple time world/Olympic medalists seems a bit strange to me.
Don’t get me wrong. There’s a place for entertainment and guys like Mugsy and Georgio P. are definitely fun to watch, but for real wrestling people…it just seemed to me like there were probably about a thousand guys in the audience who could have wrecked either of those guys when I saw the RAF in Sunrise, FL a few weeks back.
for what it’s worth, Chael did a great job as MC. I’m not sure how it translates to the broadcast, but in person he was pretty solid…except for the pose down involving audience members. That was definitely strange.

I am all for freakshow matches if it generates more subscribers and gets the wrestlers paid more. Worked for Pride. The pacing of the cards is what I really appreciate. Chael is a great promoter for wrestling.

at the last event, the clip of “take me down” guy and mugsy got double the views of every other clip on the RAF insta… last time i checked it was up over 5 million views couple days after the event…
it just is the way of the world now…
you have to throw those kind of “fans” a bone…
same with the MMA guys stepping in… it gives casuals a reason to watch and that does not hurt…
chatted with a buddy a few weeks ago and he told me what those around the campfire were saying what the guys were making to show…

chael has made me cringe multiple times on the broadcast with just not knowing the rules and scoring well enough to comment…

I was going to say the same thing about all of the announcers.
it is a huge gripe of mine…
every american commentating international wrestling from Flo to RAF to Olympic broadcasts are all woefully unknowledgeable of the actual rules…
why they refuse to participate in OEPs that are available many many times a year all across the country always irks me…
what is worse is that not only do they get it wrong then the “fans” who do not understand it either just parrot the same ignorance…
