Anthony has long been considered the absolute worst from a social aspect of the 3… some of the stories i have heard from my OK connections when he was at stillwater are frankly disgusting… he is also the “worst” wrestling wise of the 3…
AJ only slightly better socially but obviously a much better wrestler…
Angelo is by all rights a pretty decent dude… he was very quiet and laid back the one time i was around him… otto and LB4 both say he is a pretty decent kid…
losing angelo would be a way lessor blow than gaining the other 2… they have both already been there for a considerable length of time and they did not fit in at iowa…
i think the fact that angelo stayed after the other 2 left is a testament that he wants to be seen separately from them… i think he really likes iowa and has no intention of leaving…
i am kinda tired of talking about the jackasses of wrestling…
we got a little over two weeks until The US Open in vegas…
plenty to talk about wrestling wise with the entries heating up…
Greco sets there World Teams for both Senior and U20 there… leg grabbers will set seeds for WTT…
timmy hands did a preview of 60KG greco… consistently the toughest weight class domestically in greco and without a doubt the toughest weight class internationally of all the styles…
Olympic medalist and former Penn State wrestler Aaron Brooks tested positive for DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) , an anabolic agent and prohibited substance, in an April 2025 out-of-competition test.
It’s sad that it is all coming down to who has the most NIL money to spend, just like all sports now. I have a niece that plays lacrosse who is already getting money offers (although smaller ones) and she is still a high school sophomore. You know women’s college lacrosse is not exactly a money making sport so they must be reaching down to middle schools for football, basketball, etc.
it has just finally lifted the veil of college athletics and what it was originally based around…
the exchanging of goods for services has been going on forever in the background and we could all just look the other way… not anymore…
i have said it before, the entire reason otto tried iowa was purely for the NIL money and just getting some help for his wrestling expenses… he just does not like folk enough to go through that system…
plus, with getting on the senior national team at 19 and starting to get that stipend he just did not “need” to chase for anything but his own wrestling goals…
and that is the point…
it would not have taken much at all to make a huge impact in these athletes lives without the absolute madness we have now…
both the boys live off stipends from USAW and some other sponsors and it is not much at all, but, at this point in their lives it is plenty to keep them going and living fairly comfortable while traveling the world…
the NCAA could have been progressive and got out in front when it was obvious which way the wind was blowing… but being the greedy scumbags they are they just continued to try and keep it all for themselves until someone else stepped in and opened the flood gates for the silliness we are seeing now in all sports…
