I was going to make a post/poll asking prime Shogun vs Poatan
I think blaming it all on PEDS is a lazy, surface level assumption.
The guy basically had 2 full careers fighting in the ring before going to the UFC and a different environment.
And that’s not even counting a bunch of amateur boxing matches.
Can’t peak forever.
It was multiple factors IMO.
He’s not a robot.
Yep this ^
The people voting Cro Cop are living on past glory. Cro Cop got slept by Brendan Shaub and Gabe Gonzaga for fuck sakes.
Yeah…
And Chuck got slept by Tito for fuck sakes!
Let’s make a list of all the fighters who took losses on the back sides of their careers while we’re at it.
Good grief.
At least make some kind of valid argument instead of this meaningless gibberish.
Cro cop was in his prime vs Gonzaga.
I remember how disappointing this was.
If you think Alex can out strike a prime Cro Cop then you should leave this forum permanently.
Brendan Schaub outsruck him and that’s a fact. We’re talking about bapa here. There’s no excuse for that whatsoever.
Cro Cop was never the same after Fedor took his soul. Beating Barnett doesn’t count because he always beat Barnett, that was a given.
Didn’t he get slept by Izzy who lost his last few fights?
He got beaten by a comedian.
The ultimate humiliation
Cro Cop was the biggest let down the ufc has ever seen. Coming in from pride we thought he’d dominate the UFC. Boy were we mistaken
When Cro left Pride he wasxstill feared. He won the Pride OWGP. I dont like the guy but I enjoyed watching him fight. I was excited to see him fight in the ufc and thought he was a contender. Boy was I wrong. He looked puny and his agression was down. He looked slow and weak too.
Mino had massive damage but was able to be champ.
On gear Cro would have given him such a beating he would be slurring worsecthan ninja
Crocop basically didn’t train for the fight and it showed.
He’s always had problems cutting people off in the cage.
He didn’t train for elbows being allowed and Gonzaga ground and pounded him with elbows before the KO.
Still the most shocking ending to a fight, imo.
If you really believe that then I guess there’s no point debating with you.
Cro Cop was already slowing down a bit in Pride.
Some guys get old overnight.
It also didn’t help that he went from a ring where he was every bit an elite ring-general, to a cage.
Fedor was still feared when he started in Strikeforce and he hadn’t lost. Doesn’t mean he was at his best.
