I like Poatan a lot more but Khabibs top wins were over better opponents and he was much more dominant. He also didnt get fast tracked to a title shot after winning 3 fights at UFC level.

khabibs ufc career is weak not even top 20 probably near the bottom of top 50… He could have been in GOAT discussion if he didnt retire in his prime. How dumb is that?

Claimed it was about keeping a promise to his father and he was already richer than he ever thought possible.
From an MMA fan perspective though it was bizarre to me especially in his prime and being just 1 win away from 30-0.
He was a great fighter for sure and undoubtedly one of the very best lightweights in history but using objective criteria it’s hard to make a case for him being the very best that we have ever seen in the sport IMHO.

Everyone looks dominant until they don’t.
We never saw him after his peak and we never got to see how long his peak would be. Both of those are essential to determining his placement on goat list.

Conor for example had a more spectacular rise than khabib did… What if he quit before the losses like Khabib did? Would he be in GOAT discussions too?
