True but he clearly cared more about getting paid then some legacy in the UFC. He had already beaten Miocic, Overeem, Dos Santos, Velasquez.
Not saying for sure that Ngannou would have beaten Jones but I do remember Francis wanting that fight and Jones behaving like he does against Aspinall.
Fight could have been done in 2022 or 2023 if Jones had really wanted it before Francis left.

Last I heard he has been apparently negotiating a Boxing match with Deontay Wilder since PFL donât expect their champions to actually fight after they win the title.
A fight with Wilder would be interesting depending on what version of Deontay turns up.
If itâs the one prior to his second fight with Fury then Ngannou will likely be unconscious on the canvas again. If not this is a much more winnable fight for Francis than Joshua.

At HW it would be a non-title fight with both of them avoiding the champion.
But if JBJ moves back down to LHW it would be LHW champ vs LHW goat.
That would be a main event worthy of the White House.

The offered him more than any other heavyweight in history and he turned it down. More than he deserved. He priced himself out because he âknew his valueâ and then proceeded to seal 48 PPVs against Tyson Fury lol.
Your memory is faulty. Francis vacated the belt because he intentionally priced himself out of a fight with Jones after his whopping first and only ever title defense. Francis said he wanted that fight. And then did everything in his power to make sure it didnât happen.

True but he got more money for fighting Tyson and got a fucking absurd amount to fight Joshua as well. Figures he would never have got from the UFC.
Money matters but IMHO the UFC let McConor box so it was hypocritical of them not to let Francis do the same.
Will have to go back and check but I thought I remembered that he said he would stay ââifââ they let him Box and they refused.
If true then I would blame the UFC for that personally letting their heavyweight champion go to another sport rather then allowing him to do what they allowed another fighter in their ranks to do.

Francis hadnât accomplished 1/100th of what Connor did. For himself or the UFC. Two radically different scenarios. Connor was also smart enough to bring it to the ufc as a co promotion opportunity.
Iâm sure he said those words in an interview somewhere. Iâm also sure he knew that wasnât going to happen. Thatâs like saying youâll stay if Dana makes a statement that Tito and Frank Shamrock are his two favorite people on earth.
Who cares. They didnât need him. Tom and Jon are better and more marketable. He was not in the negotiating position he thought he was. He was a fool.

Deyontay is not a technical fighter but he has legendary power. He can drop you from a forhead punch. I take it Fran want money, but this is danger money. Ill be rooting for a brutal KO by Wilder!

its comical to think anyone would believe it when Dana says they offered him more money than any HW in history. That honor goes to Brock Lesnar btw.
What Dana doesnt tell you, is that the âmost money in historyâ was tied to ridiculous unobtainable ppv incentives over 4 fights. As opposed to a 1 or 2 fight deal that Francis was looking for.
Jones was also radio silent the entire time Francis was in the UFCâŚ.until Francis left all of a sudden Jon was like yea I was trying to get the francis fight. Francis did what was right for Francis and Dana hates him for it.

He was the heavyweight champion who had beaten some absolute killers whereas McConor had predominantly beaten up much smaller weaker fighters compared himself at featherweight and was gifted undeserving title shots.
Both Aldo and Anderson were not allowed to challenge for belts in other weight classes without having to give up their belts first but McConor was shown disgusting favouritism IMHO.

If it was allowed and then he left you would have a point. Someone who has fought Miocic, Overeem, Velasquez and Dos Santos is unlikely to be scared of someone as pillow fisted as Jones.
To me it isnât a good look when the linear UFC champion leaves the sport to go to another. Reduces the sportâs legitimacy in my eyes although whose fault that is is obviously debatable.
