ALL ABOARD The OZEMPIC Train!

This seems like something I should put on a T Shirt and wear around town or at least to a gym/exercise place.

Using medication as an intervention when lifestyle changes produce the same results can often lead to additional complications which then require more medications.

This is one way to do it for sure. Another approach is higher carb/very low fat, however long term that way can present additional problems.

Amazing, they didn’t have ozempic in the 70’s.

How did people manage?

My A1C is monitored when i see the dr and he does a lab.

He had me on metformin the past year because my A1C had not reached a level where he could prescribe Ozempic.

My latest lab had just crossed the threshold that he could prescribe it.

He said it was all about the numbers.

Cool. You should drop that on other fatloss drug takers and be elitist about it. Ask them what brand they are on, then talk shit. You are a Elite Pure Ozempian, they are knockoff great value fake losers. You are like real Nike’s, they are those gay fake-Nike Stadia shoes with the whale-looking logo.

He already said he was going to take it…you don’t have to convince him…

Your starter dose, is just that a starter dose. You likely won’t experience any of the major side effects until you start the 0.5 mg dose, but even then, most of my patients deny any issues at that dose. It isn’t until you reach 1mg or above.

The most concerning side effect is thyroid cancer. I’m assuming you’ve been asked if you have any family who’s experienced this.

The most common side effect is GI, specifically nausea. This is why people lose weight on this, NOT diarrhea. (One of the mechanisms is to SLOW gastric emptying)

When eating, eat as SLOWLY as possible. The nausea from this is unique; if you’ve ever over eaten to the point that vomiting is the only relief, that’s the type of nausea this can induce.

If you experience extreme abdominal discomfort, report this immediately, there is a rare side effect of pancreatitis (most medications can cause this, so nothing unique to GLP meds)

My son’s 17-year-old friend is taking it to lose weight. He’s not even really fat, played defensive line for HS football team for 4 years. Seems a little weird to me.
Also knew a guy with diabeetus who started road biking and eventually worked up to 100 mile rides. The physical activity, and I’m sure some diet changes, got rid of it.

OP will likely see zero negative side effects. Like myself and the majority of people that take it for diabetes.

I was.

Cancer in my family, and even had a surgery to remove some in myself in 2020.

But not thyroid.

You’ll be fine.

Honestly, I consider that drug class a miracle drug for diabetes

Jeez, just passed a pinecone…
