Anyone else hate sheet metal work?

But at least my neighbor has a sick metal brake I can borrow.

So handy to have a proper brake around, my neighbor is a roofer and gave me his for a while, even electricians can do nice flashing!

It’s pouring rain today, so I can’t finish the metal work off, but I am hand scraping the ways on my neighbor’s compound slide for his lathe.

Trying to get that beauty back up and running so I can turn some parts.

You want to come wire my 440volt stuff? I’m cool with the 220, but 440 makes my nuts tingle just looking at it.

Are you west or in Ontario? I don’t remember.

Explain to me how that tractor in your avatar got in to that condition.

Just had to split mine in half for the PTO engage cams that wore out. It was a real ball kick for $125 of parts.

LOL, the brakes failed when I was doing a three pt turn to go park at the top of the hill. Rolled backwards over the rock retaining wall so I bailed and did a ninja roll, tractor did its own ninja roll down the hill. It was an old piece of shit that I should not have been using on my property, there is not one flat spot on 25 acres. I got $1500 for it and bought a 45HP LS, absolutely love it.

They are a pain in the dick to work on. I had to do the outer seal on the front hub, take apart 58 things just to get to a single seal that is bound to fail. Get to know them quick that way though.

Lol yes. A good tractor flip story is always appreciated.

Been close a few times, but always kept it on all 4.

I sent my cousin the picture when my blood pressure was under heart attack level with the caption “fucking things are hard to park”. I still think its funny.

It will be one day…. It’s on my south 40 (got 50 acres total) and I’m probably gonna air bnb/rent it for most of the year to pay down the property taxes and the costs of the farm.

I’m off to help a contractor with a concrete driveway pour. If it were my job, I’d sneak a “fuck alta” in the concrete, but I think people would be confused if I was writing things in the crete like a kid.

Hate sheet metal.
Dealing with that shit off the roll and cutting it for students always sucked as a LAB asst. Would have to get it out of storage way up over the shop office.

I did service tech work so did not have to mess with sheet metal much after that.

Still remember a fat dei hire girl almost slicing me after she accidentally dropped on me…she stayed in the office after handing out tools.

She was also hired before many of her classmates…this shit has been going on for awhile.
