Didn’t really know of any guys who got staph back in my training days. I wonder if training in a gi makes a difference. They were also very good about disinfecting the mats.

Wrestling programs generally were on top of cleaning mats.

Idiots opening hole in the wall grappling gyms who never cleaned shit were the problem.

I am surprised that they would put an 80 year-old on a vent. Someone that age is rarely able to come off of one.

Hopefully we get nothing but positive news.

This sucks. Ben is a younger guy for Pneumonia to be taking him down like this.

Live every day to the fullest. You never know when it’s your turn. Athlete all his life, def never had the look of a guy on any kind of supplements other than maybe some doritos on occasion just falls out. Hell, he was prob healthier than 99% of the og

I almost died of pneumonia when I was 10. I was in the hospital for two weeks with a chest tube in majority of the time. It can get really bad really fast and you’re basically hoping and praying that the treatment works. Being 10 and knowing there is a chance you could die is rough.

Sickest I’ve ever been was pneumonia. I was in my late twenties, sick for 2 weeks and was getting out of breath going up the stairs so I went to the Urgent Care.

The doctor told me I was one day away from needing to go to the ER because my lungs were covered and my blood oxygen was super low. I didn’t know I was that bad as I thought I could fight through anything.

I got on medication and it took me another couple weeks to recover. Totally out of the blue and I’ve never had pneumonia or anything close to it again. Weird how stuff happens.

Any new info?

Last thing he was tweeting about was a crypto conference he attended right before he got sick. Is the staph infection confirmed because it might be COVID? Lot of international attendees at that event.

Pneumonia killed more people than COVID from 2020-2023. Even with the “mysterious” disappearance of influenza.

Because most people that get a bad case of Covid develop pneumonia. That’s what happened to me. Covid and then two bouts of antibiotic resistant pneumonia. They never talked about it because Covid was the agenda they were pushing and they didn’t want anyone not taking the vaccine.

To be clear, by the time I almost died from pneumonia I no longer tested positive for Covid. But I only got pneumonia because of Covid so it becomes a semantics debate at some point.

Nah that dynamic is covered in that graph. See column 5.

Unless you’re thinking they were under reporting COVID deaths? Which would be the first I’m hearing of this.
