Big Croatian man breaks a young boxing champ

Oh, for sure. I built my day around it.
And I was thrilled by the outcome too. It went almost exactly as I envisioned. I knew Itauma would likely dominate early, but thought Hrgovic would come on & take him into deep waters & finish him. Of course, it was contingent on the Croatian’s chin holding up & it did. Man, did it ever.

I don’t hate Itauma, I was just never all that impressed with him based on his limited number of rounds/fights & his woeful opposition. I mean, Wach was an old, used-up punching bag, Whyte was shot to shit, & Franklyn was a little, pudgy guy with no power. They weren’t the kinds of opponents that prepare a fighter for a championship fight.

I forgot about him.

Filip gas been passed over for a long time and his post interview was absolute class.

He still has 2-3 more years and I hope he maximizes his finances in those years.

Collapsed under the hype

I saw a comment say the big Croat used the Homer Simpson technique

I’d like to see Joshua fed to Moses. There’s no way his chin holds up like Hrgovic

Thanks for posting. Good scrap.

Cro Cop is from Croatia?

Agree with your post.. he had very limited ring experience fight wise and had only gone to the 6th Rd once I think? His technique and explosion is impressive but Filip had big amateur experience with the Olympics and euro games etc. Filip was a +600 underdog I was hoping he would weather a storm and impose his will. Great fight to watch back a couple days later

Oh, absolutely.

Everyone made a big deal about Itauma’s unbeaten amateur record & the titles he held there, but they were all in the juniors, so he beat up a bunch of under-19-year-old kids.

Well said.. he was somewhat over hyped respectfully and now it will be interesting to see who Filip fights next? It says mandatory Frank sanchez but with current boxing who knows.. I think he has a small window maybe a few fights to show his true skill and be remembered.. I could see him beating dubois. Boxing is awesome

Routed the Nazis pretty good too, only learned this recently. Very tough people.

Exactly why despite wanting Itauma to win i bet on Hrgovic to win by stoppage and picked up a nice little 50 quid.

The Croats didn’t rout the Nazis. They collaborated with them with their own brand, the Ustase

Virtually every occupied country had a minority of collaborators, France did, Poland did and so on.

Seemed like a lesson Itauma needed to learn.
Was doing fine working the body and head conservatively but tasted blood and went for it. Worked at the level he has been fighting at before but this guy was too strong and crafty and on a different level.

This was the ruling party of Croatia, it wasn’t a minority

They were brutal too

Even Nazi high command had to tell the Ustase to chill with the brutality

I don’t care though, I’m not bringing this up to be negative towards Croats. It was either collaborate or be a communist piece of shit

I’ll take being a fascist if I had to choose

Nah, the Croats also had partisans to fight
