Boxing trivia - Which heavyweight title challenger with under five pro fights was KO'd by the champion's first punch?

I was going to guess a member of the bum of the month club when I first clicked the thread. No idea who it would be as far as a name. Or at least I didn’t until your post. I love boxing history.

Yeah? That’s cool.
OK, here’s one for you. Without the aid of the internet, can you name “the Toronto Five”?
They’re the fighters that George Foreman fought in five scheduled three-round bouts in 1975.
Bonus points if you can name the two fighters who were originally scheduled to be a part of it, but dropped out at the last minute & were replaced.

I have Joe Frazier’s autograph on a glove and a personalized one on a card.

Also have David Reid’s on a glove.

I’m definitely that much of a historian. My level would be “I know about Joe Louis’ career and that he had a bum of the month club where he fought 12 or 13 guys in just over two years. The only two names I remember from those fights were two-ton Tony Galento (which I might be making up in my head but I thought that Gus Ferrozzo looked like him Hahahaha) and Godoy (because I’m a big Tommy Loughran fan at LHW and I was salty when I read about him losing to a journeyman like Godoy).

So to put the Foreman five fight night debacle into the same light. I knew it happened and I knew they were scheduled for three rounds (didn’t know it was in Toronto) but can’t name any of the guys who backed out or actually fought George that night.

Hey, that’s still very cool. I respect your knowledge, dude.

As for “the Toronto Five”, the original line up consisted of Mac Foster, Pedro Agosto, Jerry Judge, Terry Daniels & Boone Kirkman. But Foster & Agosto fell out for some reason & they were replaced by Alonzo Johnson & Charlie Polite.

So, the fights went as follows: Foreman KO1 Johnson, Foreman KO2 Daniels, Foreman KO2 Judge, Foreman W3 Polite & Foreman W3 Kirkman.

And yes, I know details like that off the top of my head because I’m a bit autistic when it comes to boxing. Lol.

Wow. You got the knowledge bruh! Impressive.

There’s another correct answer: Irish Terry Conklin

You know who plays a damn good fighter?
Tom Berenger.
Who can tell me the two films in which he played a pro boxer?
