Yeah I think he should gradually raise his voice and make the main event climactic.
He’s very good at what he does but listening to him speak, sadly, his ego is very attached to knowing and being around fighters.
He’s terrible at what he does. He’s cheesy and jumps around like a retard. He idiotically drags out his words and emphasizes random syllables for no apparent reason. His intros are overly long and like nails on a chalkboard and his decision announcements are flubbed drawn out, and disjointed. He dresses like an Eastern European lounge lizard and intrudes in fighters spaces during intros and inappropriately fawns over the winners.
I traveled from LA to Canada on the same flight with him for an event we were sponsoring up there, and spent a decent amount of time with him. He’s a very nice guy - I just don’t care for his schtick.
Funny story from his book (he gifted me an electronic copy when he saw that I was wearing a UFC shirt & learned that we were the title sponsor for 161 that I read in flight.) He apparently didn’t know that Michael Buffer was his brother until into his twenties. Once he learned that they were related, he ended up managing Michael Buffer & suing folks for using his IP (I.e Jock Jams) without licensing rights. That has a lot to do with each of their networth.
but what don’t you like about him ![]()
His elevator story makes it like he won 2 world titles and became GOAT all at the same time.
That was with Tank, right ?
Eh whatever. He’s synonymous with the UFC for me. Far better than their other announcers. He’s a bit much sometimes, but he still gets me in the zone to watch a big fight.
I find it somewhat amusing that a lot of people found Bruce Buffer to be good or a quality addition to the shows. I have to believe it’s because most people heard him when they started watching the UFC so they just accept it as part of the show they are familiar with. From my perspective, I remember when Buffer first started. I thought he was terrible then and has only been marginal, at best, since. He always struck me as far too corny. Maybe he’s just an acquired taste.
Bruce is really bad, but he’s long been part of the scenery and I half like him because he’s been a part of it for so long.
Jimmy Lennon Jr is the best. Would be great to have him for UFC events.
Some black chicken does wwe announcing now they should get her.
I agree that he’s a bit much these days and I think he can be annoying. But I’d miss him if he left.
Same with Goldie. I always liked him and I miss him at the events, but dude had so many go-to phrases that got old. “So, you want to be an ULTIMATE FIGHTER!”
Just to be dressed like a magician
Abbracadabbra nigga, abbracadabbra!
It’s not that bad I just think dude is annoying haha.
he’s great. His metal‑style announcing really hypes/stands out
I think they should get a black guy that acts equally ridiculous but in his own way. Jivin’ and dancing and using ebonics
Samuel Buffer-Jackson?
I wonder if he’s a sex pest with the ring girls, acting like being 65+ doesn’t matter because he’s “famous” and spends a lot of money on his peacock wardrobe (and ab implants, I’ve read but who knows).
He probably got action 25 years ago, most likely.
