I would fucking love Joe Martinez to get the full role before he’s too old but we all know Buff will hang on forever.
I would say until his wife goes out but apparently that’s been gone from day 1.
Joe M brings some much needed class to the presentations. I get buffer has that hype factor but it’s nails on a chalk board. You ever watch the fights with someone new so they can talk about is this ring announcer that sucks so bad.
I always disliked him and thought he compared badly to his brother, but I think he’s worked hard at his craft over the years and he’s much better now, though it happened gradually. Never thought I’d say it but both Buffer brothers are great. Bruce is also just an intrenched part of the UFC. I hope he sticks around.
He def works hard on his craft, he just doesnt have the voice. Again, he is great at building excitement though. Especially in the arena and seemingly for the fighters as well.
Also the phrase, “It’s time!” and the way he hits it is really good.
His voice is just hoarse and not smooth like his brother. Bruce is the Joe Cocker of ring announcers, but that’s not a bad thing.
You know what? Bruce Buffer is not talented and and he definitely got the job based on his last name. But he’s been around so long now, he’s just part of the product. I prefer Joe Martinez because Bruce is definitely memorable and most of the fighters seem to really love and appreciate him. I shit on Goldberg forever and when he left, I realized he had definitely grown on me, warts and all. I’ll give him this, he definitely hustles for what he has and puts his whole heart into it.
I’ll miss the Buffer’s excitement. He gives every fighter regardless of their rank a very solid introduction and I have to respect that. Once he’s done though I think Joe Martinez should get the job. He’s a solid announcer and has been the unofficial front runner for a long time now.

Bruce Buffer looks like he doesn’t tip. Goes to a pizzeria and orders 3 pies (extra oil and chest hair) 10 minutes before they close. Tells them he wants extra napkins and plates. Turns around and grabs a 2 liter bottle of grape soda on his way out
