you gotta give em that pop though
I had a recent discussion with ChatGPT about this, and unless itâs deceiving me, whatâs interesting is that according to it, Japan always had a more down to Earth take on all this stuff than we did here in America.
Basically, what it told me was that the martial arts film boom caused all the myths and influx of bullshido mall dojos here in America. Your average dojo guy back then was either more like a larper or your typical UFC 1 Karate guy with a Goldâs Gym membership.
In Japan, the main martial arts were always Judo and Kendo, Kendo being more of a self-development thing. And believe it or not, pro-wrestling, because most of those Japanese pro wrestlers back then were still rooted in real catch wrestling, eventually leading to the formation of Pancrase.
The other martial arts, just like Kendo, were viewed and practiced more as a self-development thing, not on the level of real combat sports. Although Iâm sure the bullshido thing still existed to some extent there as well.
But I donât think the majority of Japanese people actually bought into that mail order âall encompassing invincible complete deadly systemâ thing the way it was here in America pre-UFC.
Thatâs how you get taller to pass the police exam height requiremts???!!!
