Can someone explain why I want to "fight"

Screen name does not check out

Well, I began training in an hard-ass old school Isshin-ryu dojo when I was 12 because I was getting bullied by bigger, older kids in school & I was a massive Bruce Lee fan. Anyhow, we had to condition ourselves for hard, padless sparring & I loved it. The ranking was old school as well as their were only 4 belts. White, green, brown & black & after about 18 months I got promoted to green belt. I continued training there for another 6 months until my Sensei, an ex-marine who learned Karate in Okinawa, decided to move his family to North Carollna. Originally, one of his black belts was supposed to take over, but that fell through. So, after searching for another martial arts school for me to train in, my parents put me into a Tae Kwon Do school because it was close & it was cheap. So, I trained there for a little over a year & I was a blue belt who was testing for my red belt & I failed because I screwed up my forms. I hated forms! But I just couldn’t get motivated to spend time perfecting them, so I quit. I was fed up with the pitty pat sparring as well. So, there I was at 16 wanting a new challenge.

Meanwhile, while training martial arts, I’d been a huge boxing fan since I was about 14 & I decided that I wanted to emulate my two favorite fighters, Ken Norton & Sugar Ray Leonard. So, I found a boxing gym & 6 weeks later my trainer decided I’d learned enough to compete in my first amateur fight. And I was nervous as hell, but not of the actual fight. I was was worried about the crowd. I’d done some tournament fighting in Karate & TKD, but those crowds were smaller & set back away from the competition. This crowd at the Buffalo Knights of Columbus Hall seemed so much bigger & louder. But I did my best to settle myself & I climbed into the ring for the first time on October 6, 1977 & fought a kid from Jamestown, NY by the name of Pior Shannon & I stopped him in the 3rd round.

So, that’s how I got into the fight game.
53 amateur fights ( I went 45-8 ) plus 5 unsanctioned fights on the rez in Salamanca, NY & 5 years later, I turned pro on September 16, 1982 & KO’d an opponent named Kato Ali in the 4th & final round.

That’s all for now, my friend. I’ll write more soon.

OP have you tried flexing and shadow boxing in the mirror? That should make you feel better. If that doesn’t work try writing some shitty Yelp/Google reviews and not letting people merge on the freeway.

More than one way to deal with your alphaness
