The court sentenced Chechen MMA fighter Rasul Ochaev to 3.5 years in prison for a shootout during a road conflict in Moscow. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the capital’s prosecutor’s office.
The athlete was found guilty under paragraphs “d, z” of Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm dangerous to human life, committed out of hooligan motives, with the use of a weapon”), paragraphs “a, c” of Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of minor bodily harm, committed out of hooligan motives, with the use of a weapon”).
On the evening of February 14, 2024, an accident occurred, after which a verbal altercation arose, which flowed into shooting. During the conflict on Plyushchikha Street, a fighter fired several times from a traumatic pistol towards two previously unknown men, born in 1980 and 1978. The victims were hospitalized. Ochaev himself was injured during the conflict and was also taken to a medical facility. He was arrested on February 16.
