Phil Hanley - Crowdwork is a little played out and it happens to be Phil’s specialty but his tone and voice are unique. A little Tom Segura with the sarcastic storytelling and a touch of Norm MacDonald’s playing the dumb guy.
⠀
Jorden Jensen - One of the better lady comedians working today. Not political, doesn’t just lean on being a pig or a whore. Fun Perspective with real material and jokes.
⠀
Geoffrey Asmus - Good joke writer and has the kind of winkingly snide vibe you may be into from acts like Anthony Jeselnik. He’s also pretty antagonistic to his audience without it falling over into the hack bad guy comedian schtick.
⠀
Sam Tallent - Probably the most known comedian in this list due his friendships with Doug Stanhope and Shane Gillis. Still, he’s a super funny dude. Not afraid to make fun of himself without being a gimmick fat guy comedian, though he very much is a fat guy comedian.
⠀
Josh Johnson - I really like all the comedians on this list and I couldn’t pick a favorite, but Josh Johnson is to me the most interesting. He has a very slow, long-form style and his rhythm is quite unusual. However, he stays funny throughout and that’s a tough line to walk. He also puts out tons of material. This is a deep pull, but he reminds me of Richard Jeni the way he will really mine a topic for every ounce of humor.
Like 10 years ago I had a solid list of this exact category, and now they’re all pretty well known. Dan Soder, Joe List, Luis J Gomez, Dave Smith, Yannis Pappas, etc.
O&A always had dudes that fit the bill. Same with Legion of Skanks, but now everyone is in that JRE orbit to some extent.
Natalie Cuomo is a comedien maybe not a lot of people have heard of. Im not sure Ive ever heard someone so unfunny as her. But she is hot AF so it doesnt matter !
