Cris Cyborg admits retirement draws near.
Cyborg recently turned 40 years old, but she remains dominant inside the cage. Her last defeat was the famous first-round knockout loss to Amanda Nunes back in 2018. Since that fight, Cyborg has gone 8-0 with four knockouts and a submission win.
While Cyborg remains more than capable in pro MMA competition, she believes it will be time to hang up the gloves in the near future.
Cris Cyborg Has 2 Fights Left in Pro MMA Career
During a recent edition of âThe Catch Up With Cris Cyborg and James Lynch,â the PFL Super Fights Womenâs Featherweight Champion revealed when she first started thinking about retiring (h/t MMAJunkie).
âThe reality is this decision has literally been (there) longer,â Cyborg said in an interview with James Lynch. âWhen I signed this current contract, we had already made the plan to finish the contract and retire, because we started the legacy tour when I fought against Larissa Pacheco. So I have two fights left, and Iâm ready for the next chapter. Some fighters will never know when to end. I just turned 40 years old, I feel great, but we have to know when itâs time to stop.â
While Cyborg doesnât know what will be in store for the final bout of her pro MMA career, she does have an idea of who her next opponent could be?
âI like to do step by step,â Cyborg said. âMy next fight, I believe, is going to be Sara Collins. Sheâs undefeated, she beat Leah McCourt, sheâs No. 1 in Australia, she fought girls at the top at 145 pounds. I believe sheâs going to be next, and I like to think about the next one.â
Not sure âstunningâ is the right word considering sheâs 40 and has no one interesting to fight.

Cris Cyborgâs legendary mixed martial arts (MMA) career is coming to an end.
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) Featherweight champion will compete in her final MMA fight in the main event of PFL Tampa on Sat., Aug. 22, 2026, when she takes on former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Ketlen Vieira inside Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.
Cyborg (29-2) is riding a nine-fight win streak and was last in action against Sara Collins, whom she submitted to win the vacant PFL Featherweight championship (watch highlights).
Prior to that, Cyborg defeated Larissa Pacheco via unanimous decision to become the only MMA fighter in history to become a quintuple champion, having captured world titles across five major MMA promotions.
In addition to her MMA run, Cyborg has also started boxing and currently holds a 7-0 professional boxing record with five stoppage wins.

Damn Iâm gonna miss her. Sheâs the GOAT WMMA fighter. They should have kept her in the UFC and given her a rematch with Amanda. Cyborg is still the best WMMA fighter right now.
