âThe Trainâ isnât here for a farewell tour.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight madman Nate Landwehr returns to action against veteran fan favorite Cub Swanson on the UFC 327 main card this weekend (Sat., April 11, 2026) inside Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
For Swanson, itâs a career finale â a 21-year run that dates back to 2004 and includes 25 fights inside the Octagon. Heâll also go down as the final fighter from the WEC era to compete in the UFC.
For Landwehr?
Itâs just another fight.
The always-intense Featherweight isnât getting caught up in the emotions of Swansonâs retirement bout â and has no intention of playing the role of a feel-good sendoff.
âComing into the UFC from M-1 Global, it was the fight that I wanted, and weâre about to find out Saturday night. I feel like itâs two dads at a baseball game and weâre going to figure it out,â Landwher said during UFC 327 media day. âI remember running into his wife during 2024 International Fight Week when he was fighting Andre Fili, and I said I was pulling for him â I ainât pulling for him now. I just saw him out there, and itâs always that awkward moment where weâre like, âYo, what up,â but Iâm here to hurt you, and youâre here to hurt me.â
And if thereâs any buildup left?
Itâs almost over.
âItâs kind of like playing hide-and-go-seek as a kid, and the countdown is almost done,â Landwher added. âYou hid where you hid.â
Despite the aggressive mindset, Landwehr made it clear he respects Swansonâs longevity in a brutal sport.
âI respect the fact that you know, itâs tough to be in this game, let along be in this game for as long as he has â in any sport. If youâre in the UFC, then youâve got my respect,â Landwehr concluded.
Still, respect wonât stop whatâs coming.
The 37-year-old Clarksville, Tennessee native is currently riding a two-fight losing streak â both losses coming by finish â and is determined to get back on track.
And more importantlyâŚ
He doesnât want to be the final highlight of Swansonâs career.
