Dude is about to get crushed by Chimaev next fight lol

You really think so? I just think DDP is strong enough and skilled to prevent any submissions. Then he takes over beating the snot out of Khamzats nose like he did to Strickland. It’s a good target

DDP could end up presenting a challenging style for Chimaev. I’m not picking anyone against Chimaev, but I do think DDP could being the toughest matchup for him.

I really like this comparison. Great little write up

Also, the one above who mentioned difference in fighting styles, ddp goes for finish gsp doesn’t… also gsp was always much more technical than ddp ever has been

But there are many more similarities than differences. Well done OP

I feel like with DDP/Chimaev and Potain/Ankalaev, we are getting two legit “when worlds collide/destiny awaits” type of title fights.

Agree… With that being said, Poatan and Chimaev will come out victorious.

Similar body types and funny accents aside, they are polar opposites.

DDP has finishd 20 of 23. Strickland fighting safe had everything to do with 2 of the 3 decisions.

DDP is like a physically strong Tony Ferguson stylistically.

Minus the elite wrestling

Sean lost cause he hasnt evolved.

DDP style makes any new techniques he learns his own. You can’t see that shit coming.cause he flips the script on it.

A true Thai style should stop him.

GSP was exciting in his earlier fights, then just started grinding ppl out and playing it safe.

I think he would beat DDP though. Would be a good fight.

Gsp was scared to get hit. He was definitely more an athlete than fighter

DDP is great

He isn’t as dynamic and smooth in his transitions from punching, kicking and takedowns. He throws harder and is willing to get hit more.

I think Hazmat will be the ultimate test. I think GSPs style would be better at beating him because he doesn’t leave himself open for the takedown as much. I can see DDP winding up for a hard shot and getting taken down early where GSP would be ready to sprawl.

I don’t think he will have a long reign but I enjoy watching him fight.

He was winning the fight before he broke Sean’s nose but he went hard after him trying to get the finish. Sean would have just kept plodding in that situation.

I wanted Sean to win but DDP worked harder and is probably a more exciting champ
