Yeah if i remember correctly after the Serra fight most of his fights went to decision, he changed his strategy significantly.
And even in a couple fights where he won pretty handily (Condit, Koscheck) he still took a lot of damage trying to play it safe.

GSP fought defensive with a hard jab and waited for the opponent to get flustered at the inaction and take more risk, at which point he’d power double leg them.
DDP lunges forward aggressively and takes a lot of risk to force the action.
