The grid is a nice touch.
That’s Michelle Pfieffer.
Great horror anthology flick, she is great in the film.
My daughter is a pop artist and paints iconic people like Dolly, Elvis, Stevie Nicks, Prince, Audrey Hepburn, Lil Way e, whoever. I suggested Debbie , I would think she has a lot of Gen X fans with money …Check her out on Instagram at kloeoncanvas.
She just did a commissioned piece of Tony and Carmella Soprano sitting at a nightclub table , a Dorothy from Wizard of Oz , some decorative huge panels in addition to a few other paintings totaling over 10 grand. She had a really good week. She is at another small showing here in New Orleans Wednesday and will be in Roundtop , TX this weekend.
Yeah, she’s had success out the gate . I told her if she can do this for a living , she’ll be a lucky lady. Hardest part is setting everything up for the shows which are often out of state. Sometimes she has free places to stay if we have friends in the area of the show.
Check out her Instagram.
Thanks man. She stumbled across this talent kind of by chance.
She was in the “gifted art “ program in elementary school , for whatever that is worth. Her drawings and projects looked good to me but I spent most of my life working out , doing combat sports , and checking stuff out on the OG - WTF would I know about art?
She gets a real artist as a teacher in HS who would actually fail kids and tell them they have no business being in the gifted art program ….She loved my daughter and would rave about her work and tell her one day they will do shows together ….the lady was having health issues so my daughter didn’t have her for very long .
Fast forward a few years while she was college and she wanted to take some art technique classes but the university wouldn’t allow her to unless she took all these art history and art appreciation classes. Art wasn’t her major or minor, she just wanted to learn and expand on whatever she had already known. She wound up not taking those classes.
Her boyfriend works for the Saints. She painted him an Alvin Kamara painting with a cool background as a surprise. We were able to get Alvin to sign it. She has never done portraits before. While working on it , her friends see it and want one for their boyfriends with different backgrounds so she does those also. None of the boys saw them until Christmas Day or Christmas Eve , I can’t remember.
They eventually wind up posting the paintings on social media and people start contacting her to commission pieces . Many times she just does who she likes and puts them up for sale on Instagram and whatever else these kids do. She’s been making a living doin it for about 3 years .
I think she is really good at doing dogs , she does them realistically or very colorful. She did one collie looking dog in Mardi Gras colors that was outstanding IMO. I tell her there are more people willing to spend money on their pets than on celebrities and she can turn those out much faster .
