He was stiff at first and tentative. Then he loosened up and kind of found his groove. Then he got TOO loose and cute and tried being Stylebender, and got caught slipping.

He did that thing where he turns to circle away and reset to the center. He does it all the time but fuck that was lazy as shit. He got caught turning away and that was it.
I don’t know if DDP was in his head but it sure seemed like it. But he looked good in the fight and was pulling away in the fourth. Dricus is an absolute madman that you cannot make any mistakes against. Izzy couldn’t have lost to a better guy.

I dont think so. Izzy was lazer focused during the fight and teeing off on DDP for much of the fight. But DDP is tough as fuck, super durable, and tenacious. He looks like an amateur but his durability, toughness and iron will allowed him to beat Izzy.
Izzy has many L’s on his record. But this one especially stings because he wanted to win so he could hump Driccus and say Im the real african bitch.
Atleast Izzy didn’t bring up apartheid or King Leopold II or something like I thought he would have at the presser when Driccus laid claim to be the only african champ in UFC history

I’ve always been ambivalent toward DDP, but I’m now a supporter.
Beating that arrogant, half gay, ungrateful, Nigerian scammer was very satisfying to watch.
Also, DDP RARELY goes the distance. He finishes or gets finished. I respect that.

It’s possible that DDP got in his head a little bit that’s a pretty weak ass excuse for losing a fight. Izzy fought a pretty respectable fight. IMO he just was not the better fighter last night and that’s all it comes down to.

Dricus is still underrated. He’s that good. People knock him for his close fight with Sean, which is dumb.
He’s a tank for 185.

Yup. It seemed like it at the time but based on Izzy’s performance I’d say he wasn’t in his head. Both guys seemed ready and focused.

Du Plessis has a giant Fujita skull that let’s him take punches to land a punch. He got hit with a big elbow that landed with with an audible CLUNK and he didnt even flinch.
He also has a bizarre cardiovascular system where he looks like he’s about to die from exhaustion, then gets his second wind and finishes the fight like the Energizer Bunny.
