Finishes over Chandler and Green are absolutely enough to break into the top 10. He’d still need to win another 1-2 fights against higher level guys to get a (justified) title shot though, and I dont see it happening.

Agree completely. You could tell those leg kicks were hurting him. I think that froze him up.
Chandler and Pitbull both looked very small compared to Paddy and Yair.

Paddy used those leg kicks and took chandlers explosiveness almost immediately out of the picture. Then he used his length and athleticism to out strike him. Then he took him down and turned his face into ground beef. Not really sure how anyone can’t say this was an excellent division catapulting performance. He had a game plan, executed it under early fire and it paid off.

I know it’s fun to hate Conor, and he’s washed and a rapist and a cocaine addict and so on and so forth. But…
Conor was on a 6 fight win streak (5 KOs) and had beaten Dustin Poirier, Max Holloway, and Diego Brandao.
Dennis Siver is easy to mock now, but he was ranked and 7-2 (in his last 9) going into that fight (with those 2 losses being Donald Cerrone and Cub Swanson).
And despite the short notice, Mendes was a betting favorite and almost everyone thought Conor was going to get killed.
Also, he was indisputably the biggest draw in the sport at that time.
Finally, Conor starched the champion in the first round, so clearly he belonged there.
There are far more flagrant examples of underserved title shots than 2015 Conor McGregor.

It’s not just who he beat but how he beat them, and how he looked while he did it. He has been making clear strides with every fight and that became evident to me with his win over Green. You can say what you want about Green but no scrub is gonna go in there and run him over like that.
