I recall reading about a Russian woman residing in Leningrad in July 1941, that had put down in her diary how she (then) wished for a German victory. Not that she liked them (and she would soon hate them!), but she hated so much the commie regime, and was mad as hell that with all their lies and brutality, they had even taken away patriotism out of so many people.
