Capitalism is a terrible system, the only issue is everything else man has come up with is even worse.

I love Capitalism. It’s just self-ownership. What I make and what I do, is mine. And I can trade what is mine with others who want to trade what is theirs.

That is not the capitalistic economic system you live within though.

“Centralized/governmental control is fucking up capitalism. That’s why capitalism sucks! Therefore we need more centralized governmental control.”

You sound regarded.

Tucker Carlson backs Ocasio-Cortez on criticism of Amazon HQ2 incentives: ‘World’s richest man’ Bezos just got $2B from taxpayers

Yeah, they’re both wrong. Bezos was incentivized to bring business into an area by making an agreement that the state and local governments would steal $2 billion less from him than the current tax levies would have him pay.

That is not what i said.

i got gary on my algorithm a few mths ago. he has interesting things to say, he has both commie and capitalistic virtues. he is clearly empathetic to the struggling class, but he also understands that he has bills to pay and mouths to feed.
he is well credentialed, but the reality is, there have been hundreds of people that occupied his position at various big banks throughout history, all across the world, why is his opinion more valid than the others?
are his views better than ray dalios?

The nasty truth that no one ever wants to address is that to have rich, you must have poor. The contrast is what makes being rich so exciting to humans. If everyone is the same or similar humans will be miserable and disincentivized. Another harsh reality is that we aren’t all the same, and it’s not even close. Stupid and lazy people will struggle in every system because being stupid and/or lazy are detrimental in every way. Even if stupid lazy people are taken care of they will just squander their handouts in relation to people that are not stupid and lazy. That circles back to my first point, humans measure success by how they are doing relative to other humans.

There was a specific study that showed that people aren’t happy based on how big their house is in an absolute sense, but how big their house is relative to the other houses on their street and the nearby streets.
