I happened to be in a pub near the Old Bailey a few years ago on a day when Robinson was in court, and had the dubious pleasure of meeting some of his supporters. They were utter morons, all of them. Worse than that, they tried to pick a fight with my group of colleagues (it was a work thing) and backed down when we laughed at them. Considering as a group we worked in engineering design - not exactly the scariest profession - and that whilst I have a fair bit of combat sports experience I look about as intimidating as a baby deer, that’s not a good look for them.

Absolutely I do, and I’m not arguing that things are perfect. I’d just prefer the discussion to be a little more realistic. Not all immigrants are awful or criminal, no-one is deliberately admitting thugs, rapists, etc. to the country, and more to the point, what Musk is claiming is untrue.

I’ve already informed of this on this forum. He tried to argue but lost the argument for 2 reasons: -
- You can’t argue against the French being losers because they are French.

There are essentially two possible scenarios here.

There is a system in place by which those known to be serious criminals are deliberately admitted in spite of their criminality.

In any population, including a migrant one, some proportion of them will be criminal and therefore criminals will enter the country when migration occurs.
Do you genuinely believe the second scenario is more likely?

Apologies - I assumed you were American.
I’m not arguing that criminals aren’t reaching the U.K. - in fact I understand that they’re coming here deliberately. However, I don’t think that inadequate checking is the same thing as wilful admission - especially when illegal migration occurs, such as when small craft cross the Channel.
I would also say, in response to what you wrote about your grandfather, and what others have said about us, that we are essentially a bunch of overprincipled, stubborn cunts who’d rather lose badly than quit. I recognise that in myself, and in most of the people I grew up with. There may be a veneer of polite behaviour over the top of it, but when push comes to shove, we don’t have it in us to be cowards, and I have very happily had the shit kicked out of me to prove it more than once.

You have it all wrong. It’s not criminals entering your country or many of the others. It’s swaths of people who’s ideologies promote criminal behavior in the societies they enter, as standard practice. If you don’t pander and act accepting to those behaviors you are labeled an Islamophobe or Far Right.
Hitchens (RIP) warned the world about it before he left. The UK government has shown to be sympathetic to those behaviors in spite of their own citizens. Even Douglas Murray spoke about it in earlier post even though he was much more careful than Hitchens, because Hitchens didn’t give a fuck about the potential repercussions from speaking his mind.
