Floyd is very good at making money and he’s highly skilled, but he doesn’t make good financial decisions apparently. I’ve read that he never wears a pair of underwear twice, example. Wear once and throw them away. That’s a small thing, but it’s indicative of his cash burning mentality. Many really wealthy people actually live very frugal lifestyles and invest wisely. Unfortunately he’s probably seen as an easy mark to exploit by people like Leonard Elerby and bad actors of the like.

The dude took out a significant advance for the Netflix rematch vs Manny, then tried to change terms to an exhibition despite the contract he signed being for a pro fight, and finally conceded on honoring the deal he originally agreed to after Netflix, MSG, and Manny told him he’d be sued into the dirt (9 figures) if he breached contract.
Someone with Mayweather’s supposed wealth doesn’t take out a big advance like that unless they are struggling with liquidity.

Mayweather will never end up completely broke though. Too many people are invested in his survival. He might end up living in some suburban subdivision and not a 10,000 square foot mansion, but he’s not going broke completely.

Well I think that’s why words have meanings. Its why I and the vid creator used the world “Broke” because thats what he’s experiencing and we didn’t use the word “destitute” which would be living in a cardboard box as you put it.
It does not matter if Floyd makes 4mil a year from real estate if he can’t pay his bills and has the IRS and lawyers coming after him. Thats what makes him broke.
