Didn’t the original UG / OG when actual pros were a part of it have a rule something like “don’t talk shit about fighters” partly to keep them coming around and partly to keep people from embarrassing themselves by saying something they’d never say in person?

Never say something on the forum about a fighter that you wouldn’t say to their face was a stupid rule.
If a fighter loses there might be a discussion that he didn’t train properly or that he screwed up by staying with is present camp. Nothing wrong with that kind of forum discussion. But there is no way you would walk up DC or Jones or Stipe and tell them that.

That beginning was freaking terrible and had to skip through. But stuck with it and it’s not bad. Some good stuff. Forrest fucked up though because Rampage asked how much $ for a rematch in boxing and Forest thought he priced himself out by saying $3,000,000 and Rampage said Bear can make that happen.
Considering how many times he changed up his fighting style to stay relevant as he got older, got off the horsemeat, and to protect that glass chin of his, the guy has always come off as more intelligent than his peers.
He may be the most skilled heavyweight fighter of all time. Not the best, but the most well-rounded. Not to mention, he, of all people, was the reason why Jones didn’t go up to heavyweight until just recently.

Well yeah but I think a big part of the problem wasn’t taking about the fighters and discussing why they lost or whatever, it was just pure fighter bashing and insulting.

It’s the same thing as being at a bar talking sports and someone starts talking shit about a football player saying he’s washed up and sucks. The rule was made based off the early days when there weren’t many fighters and Kirik hoped to get them posting on the UG to increase traffic. That hope was dashed once there became thousands of fighters and all of them went to Twitter and facebook.
