I have a tremendous amount of respect for Fred Ettish. @MMAHistoryPodcast & Todd Atkins did great interviews with him. He had to deal with so much absurd trash talk from people on the underground forum for years in the 90’s/early 2000’s & the death of his son during childbirth. Apparently, he also dealt with abuse from family members as a kid. This man is a martial artist in every sense of the word. He had the balls to step into the octagon when nobody really knew for sure what they were getting into. He lost, and continued his training and teaching in Okinawan karate and also began seeking out training in ground fighting and other effective martial arts to improve his skills and stay on the path. Had the balls to step back into a cage 15 years later and give it another try after years of training and improvement and was able to get a victory. This man has nothing to prove to anybody. He is still teaching both Okinawan karate & MMA in Missouri. Much respect to Mr. Ettish.

Totally agree. I have nothing but respect for the guy. I remember the fetal fighting shit talking coming from a bunch of pussies too afraid to fight themselves
