I know guys making 50/hr. Past 40, they get double time. And per diem.
Clear six figures easy.
Of course, most of them spend it quicker than they make it. But it’s still damn good money.
Then if you’re doing off shore work… holy shit.

If they start taking contracts and especially if they do it bidding on the job/piece rather than per hour they will make way more money than that.
That’s not how it works in those settings.
As i mentioned in my first post on that topic its easier/harder depending on the trade. I would pick a trade based off how easy the pipeline into self employment then scaling a company was. Rather than picking one with highest hourly rate for employment.
I just paid a plumber $400 to clear a major clog in the drain. He air-blasted the kitchen faucet without success so he had to use a snake tool to get to the clog in basement drain pipe. Costly mistake by me over the years to let food get stuck down the drain. I asked if he was busy and he said non-stop. He makes good coin to support his family of 5 children.
Talked to another kid just starting off in plumbing while in the sauna and he says that there is still quite some demand up here (Canada) for trades people.
Meanwhile Federal Government employees are getting cut. My department is safe but I’ve heard of many getting laid off and am hearing of more to come.
Some negro just dicked around in my basement for half an hour and charged me $1,2000
I work in construction I know a bunch of welders that are making $40+ an hour in their mid 20s usually 60+ hours a week. Plus $100 a day Per Diem. And per diem was being paid over weekends and holidays. They were banking.
And per diem is non taxable. If you’re smart in your usage while working on the road you can really make a killing.
Yup.
And not all of them are great at it either lol.
It’s fucking sad to see with these kids.
Our youngest just got a new job making a tidy sum.
He carpools with a coworker who makes the same as he does. Older than our son by a few years. Both still live at home, no rent or real bills.
Ours is stacking up cash to purchase a home outright. Got his eye on a nice reliable old car. His coworker is shelling out almost a grand a month for a brand new car note and constantly suping up the vehicle. No savings of any kind.
It’s all mentality.
Was he staring at the pic of your morbidly obese white cousin and licking his lips?
