Golf, why we hate and love it

Let’s get back to some chat on golf.

I have my last league game tomorrow. I’m sad. That was my excuse to play at least once a week.

League play is fun but why is that your only excuse to play?

I hate everything about it except the carts. It’s easier to list what i like about it:

The carts

I guess not only reason. It’s already paid for and during the week. Weekends are busy for me usually. I also only have one friend that golfs regularly. He’s also my partner in league.

Sam Bradford and his partner qualified for the USGA four-ball with -11 today. That’s pretty fucking strong

Tried once. Didn’t understand the appeal.

Can’t say I understand hating it either.

I’m just indifferent.

Still, it is cool to watch people make custom clubs.

I love everything about it, except the golf.

Sun, grass, trees, sand, water, pretty girls selling beer…awesome.

Hitting a golf ball with a golf club…bah.

Playing golf - incredibly fun.
Watching golf - incredibly gay

The hate comes from those of us that love it. You look forward to playing, getting out there and hit a few bad shots and then you ask yourself why you do it, then you hit a few good shots and think about how good the next round could be, rinse and repeat.

I shot a 47 and 43 last week. Have to play again today and next weekend.

I hate golf.

Ever played anything else?

Idk, maybe golf would seem less horrifically boring now that I’m kinda old and getting more boring too. :person_shrugging:

I hate putting and driving.

I love hitting irons.

I like playing golf early in the morning the few times I play.

They have some good courses down here in Branson but Top of the Rock is pretty amazing but too $$$ for me to play regularly…but I like par 3 courses.

Hole 6 · Par 3
This island green is completely surrounded by water and fascinating rock formations. From an elevated tee, the shot must be precisely struck in order to find dry land. This hole offers a real challenge to even the most accomplished golfers.
