Good enough/fit enough?

How does a guy in his 40s overcome the idea that he is “good enough/fit enough”? I hope that I’m not the only one who’s been here. I was a wrestler, still a wrestling coach and can hang with the boys in the room. But, reaction times are slowing and the mid section is softening up a bit as the last few years have crept by. I’ve got a 7 year old and he keeps my fires lit to stay in shape. But, Father Time is the Ultimate Ultimate champ. The thought creeps in that I’m “fit enough and good enough” but I don’t like it, feels like settling. I’ve got a wonderful wife that keeps it tight and right. I’m pretty beat up from years of work in the woods, dirtbike wrecks, wrestling and life. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Listen to Tony Robbins or some other similar fag. They’re perfect for middle aged soft bodies looking for self esteem.

i mean i’m just coming to terms with the fact that i’m not. as a wrestler myself i’ll always feel confident i can handle just about anyone who has no training. but the young lions? i wouldn’t lay down but i don’t love my chances. less and less so as time moves forward.

I’ve had have given a lot of thought to trt. Been reading a bit, seems as though a guy can get more honest results about hormone levels by going to a holistic doctor than to a traditional md. I’m very much “chiropractors are black magic” but reading says that a holistic doctor takes in all the factors not just acceptable range for age. Anyone have experience with this that use trt?

Nah that’s gay shit dude.

It’s what democrats give to 12 year old girls.

you talking more about the mental side of it and feeling good about yourself or are you talking about about how you would do against younger guys?

i guess it just depends on what “holistic” really entails. there’s a difference between things like peer researched/reviewed herbal medicine specialists, emergent therapeutics, dedicated nutritionists, etc. that are still in the realm of hard science vs spurious doctors just slapping some extra woo onto the practice to cast a wider net.

i’ve had the same NP for about a decade now and she truly knows her shit when it comes to nutrition, supplementation, and contemporary herbalism. i’ve avoided a lot of pharma with very good results. but you really have to stay skeptical and trust your gut as these lines in medicine and therapies blur.

Not so much against younger guys. I’m pretty aware of that at this stage. Mostly just the ease at which complacency shows up. So yeah, the mental side I suppose.

ah yeah. that parts a little tough. i like to consider how women my age look compared to me. and some how they still get out of bed every morning.

you coach h.s.?

Is transitioning a prerequisite for trt? That’s way worse than I had thought.

This is great insight man, I really appreciate it. It seems like a situation where you may run through a couple before you end up where you should be with someone who is legit.

Yeah. Everyone on hormones has to undergo gender affirming care.
