HD was outed for its having a ROBUST DEI program. They were found to have gay faggot parties, and dick cakes. They had workshops for the white employees to learn about their privilege and racism, and reeducation workshops. If you were a straight white male, which has to be 97% of their customer base, they consider you’re a racist homophobe and fuck you.
So the backlash happened this summer, I haven’t kept up or have any clue what their numbers are. I heard Sturgis this year their booth was empty like BudLites.
Now they have announced factories going to Thailand. lololol They hate America. Fuck them.
Who owns a Harley here and what are your thoughts? To me, Harley is as American as apple pie and this feels like a huge betrayal to me. Fuck them. I’ll buy an Indian or something not woke.
Hard to believe the company that was saved from extinction by the US government, which imposed heavy tariffs on imported motorcycles over 700cc displacement during the 80s specifically to save HD, is now shitting on America.
Totally off topic…, but anytime I see, read or hear that word, my mind immediately takes me back to the good ‘ole days of O&A, Foundry Music and this banger…
95% of what Harley has ever made is unremarkable and/or unreliable poor handling slow loud overpriced junk. There seem to be a few gems in there here and there.
Anyone here have experience with Indian motorcycles? Are they more reliable, better quality than HD? They seem to be a lot less expensive, but I always though HD was charging a premium for the brand name.
I still love my Harley; riding around is great and excellent on trips. Sure, Harley put in a shit coolant pump three years in a row, and I had to spend 2 hours laid on my side replacing it vs the trip we had planned, but it’s still something I love. We started to have a good collection of chips we picked up vs. T-shirts over the years. Will I purchase anything else from Harley? No
been riding motorcycles, primarily Harleys, for 30+ years.
currently own 2, a 1968 Sportster XLCH and a 2001 ElectraGlide Classic. have plans on owning more, but only stuff made in the 40s-60s. also trying to get my hands on an old 1980 Honda CBX1000, so there’s that lol.
i don’t know anyone into the new stuff, and this news certainly isn’t helping.
this DEI shit is really infecting everything. the CEO didn’t/doesn’t know the people buying their product nor does he want to know. he seems to want to change the fundamental core of the company. imo, that’s going to end in disaster.
