They already are.
They don’t realize that grocery stores make their money by volume and non food items. There is very little money made at the retail level. Anyone that has ever worked in a restaurant and seen the prices they pay know that. Yes the prices are better, but not mind bogglingly. Most of the higher prices in supermarkets are due to overhead. It’s the exact same reason restaurant food is more expensive than grocery store food. The more people that touch it, the higher the price goes.

Create an environment that causes prices to go up, then demonize retailers for “price gouging” when they raise their prices to keep pace, and criminalize it. It’s the Democrat way!
