Not long after the promotion signed the Paulo Costa vs. Brunno Ferreira fight for UFC 326 on March 7 in Las Vegas, “The Eraser” withdrew from the Paramount+ lineup for undisclosed reasons. That’s according to Leo Guimaraes, who first reported the booking back on Dec. 16.
The 34 year-old Costa (15-4) has not competed since his unanimous decision victory over Roman Kopylov at UFC 318 back in July. As for Ferreira, 33, he improved to 15-2 by outlasting middleweight veteran Marvin Vettori as part of the UFC 323 lineup earlier this month in Las Vegas.
An intriguing UFC bantamweight bout is close to being finalized.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that the UFC is targeting a matchup between Rob Font and Raul Rosas Jr. for UFC 326. The event takes place March 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, streaming exclusively on Paramount+.
Agreements are in place for the contest, with contracts expected to be issued soon.
Font is slated to make his 21st octagon appearance, and looks to bounce back from a loss in his most recent bout. Scheduled to face Rosas at Noche UFC this past September, Font ended up facing surging prospect David Martinez at the event after Rosas withdrew, and dropped a unanimous decision. The loss snapped a two-fight win streak for the No. 14 ranked 135-pounder in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight title challenger Brian Ortega was expected to (finally) make his lightweight debut opposite 155-pound fan favorite Renato Moicano as part of the upcoming UFC 326 event on Paramount+, scheduled for Sat., March 7, 2026 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Not happening.
That’s according to Brazilian reporter Léo Walker Guimaraes, who also brought word that lightweight up-and-comer Tom Nolan was in the running to replace Ortega in “Sin City.” That said, Nolan’s manager is disputing the addition of “Big Train” to the UFC 326 lineup.
