I fought all those fights while I was in college. When I started working I never even considered another fight. I trained with a lot of guys that fought at a high level but I was a good student and unlike Carlos Newton i did not choose fighting over being a doctor lol.

Pretty sure I could have taken you with six months of sprawl training. But only when you lost 90 pounds from covid and were at deathās door lol.

I have never once wished I fought professionally lol. Huge waste of time for 99% of people and keeps you distracted from reality and actually improving your life.

Yeah, not many make life changing wealth fighting. Any person that grinded at a business would be more likely to be successful at that than fighting

The early days were about fighting for glory and fame, not money. IIRC even Tito was fighting for pennies at first in the UFC.

Tito was one of the first fighters to market himself in the new generation of fighting. The Gracieās were the first bit Tito was the father of social media imo

But the Gracies were about it being a business from the start in the US.
I remember back after UFC 2, me and a buddy rented basically a room in a run down building to try and ātrainā what we saw in the UFC. There were no BJJ school within a thousand miles around in those days and it was mostly the Gracies in Los Angeles. We put out a few flyers around town inviting people to come and work out with us for free to practice and train the moves of Gracie Jiu Jitsu ā¢ We got a letter from I think their lawyer telling us we couldnāt use their name. Until that point we thought it was just a martial arts style like Judo or Boxing. We didnāt know it was a patented brand name lol.

I think Tito made more money by himself than any of the Gracieās do individually. The Gracieās were like a mafia or leaders, middle men soldiers etc
