I just wait a few hours to start watching the fights and fast forward through all the gaps. You can get through the whole card in a couple hours. Watching these events in real time is fucking torture.

Yeah its sad because obviously theres an appeal to watching fights live, but they make it so difficult nowadays between the WMMA, the low finish rate, frequent cards that have 3 or less fights out of a dozen that anyone is actually invested in etc etc.

Well, I don’t get “invested” in sporting events so…
That being said, I know Tabatha Ricci personally and her jiu jitsu coach is the man who gave me my black belt so I’ll be watching her fight at some point.
I mean invested in the sense of like - yeah I would like to see those two fight, yeah I remember that fighter hes good I wanna watch him again.
Such a small ratio of the fights on the typical card have that now. The roster is huge and its 80% made up of fighters that nobody knows and who are never gonna even break into the top 15 in their division.
Yeah I get what invested means. I just don’t do that. Like I said, I can watch a UFC event in a couple hours - pretty much all the fights.
Skip through between fight nonsense and skip the girl fights.
Some of the best fights I’ve ever seen were between two fighters I’d never heard of.
I’m NOT trying to argue with your point and get it. I’ve just found that UFC events are more enjoyable for me if I just watch the fights for what they are.
Put two men in a cage and let them go at it. Most of the time it’s entertaining.

Yeah theres definitely still plenty of good action, and it is actually often the lower key cards that deliver.
I just miss the days when most cards felt like an event. I think MMA is just better suited to being a spectacle like that rather than being on tv practically every weekend. The oversaturation is crazy nowadays.

Yes, there are too many fights in general. Sometimes when I have them on it serves as little more than background noise.

Yan, Figueiredo, Oezdemir, Ulberg. I’m sure I’ve seen some of the others but they must have been forgettable.
The prelims are the “Road to UFC” finals, which is an Asian tournament to earn a UFC contract. Basically TUF without the house and reality TV.
