How many refs stop Shane vs Lesnar?

I always thought that was a shaky decision to not stop it but………it ended up the right way so in hindsight it’s a good decision.

I think JDS gets the title if Shane would have won.

I was in the 3rd row for this fight. right behind stone cold the undertaker and jim ross. it was amazing. brock came into our section after the fight and was giving hugs to all his people. jim ross was the main guy he wanted to hug.

Lol.

If the fight happened now it probably would have been stopped.

Agree to disagree. This is easily one of the most complained about stoppages on this site. If it was something like Ferguson vs Gethje, where a fighter is getting needlessly beaten - yeah, i can see why we’d complain.

To complain about this fight where the barrage showed down, Lesnar got back up, took control, Carwin was clearly tired, then Lesnar chokes him out in the next round? Nah. Obviously it’s a good thing the ref didn’t stop it. I think the people complaining just really wanted Carwin to win. I wanted Carwin to win too. But when that round ended, i remember thinking “well shit, there went his chance.” The writing was on the wall.

That doesn’t mean it was the “right” call. Someone can also make the argument that the only reason Carwin punched himself out is because it was allowed to go on too long.

It’s the lack of consistency. A lot of times a fight is stopped and the typical cuck response is “no way he was getting out of that, I couldn’t stand to see him take any more punishment” when in actuality, a lot of fights could keep going on.

Hell fighters have been completely KO’d and came on and won. So which is it, let it go until flat out or give the w to the guy who goes spastic punching gloves like they are trying to get a school teacher to jump In before they gas out?

By most standards, Lesnar would have been considered done. He was curled up in a ball. The Overeem fight he was sitting down getting punched and trying to cover.

Fedor vs Hendo was stopped while he was spinning around back to guard.

Bring back heavyweights on steroids please

My point is complaining about the lack of a stoppage AFTER the other fighter wins in the very next round is silly. I can see complaining about it right when it happens. “What the fuck, why didn’t the ref stop that?” But then when the other fighter stops him in the very next round that same person should shrug his shoulders and say “okay, I guess it’s a good thing the ref didn’t stop that.”

Skill issue. Fight smarter

LOL. That just doesn’t make any sense at all. Thats like saying two fighters should only ever fight each other once, because the person that wins the first fight will always win.

Huh? On what planet is it like that at all?

Because TKO stoppages are often subjective. Just because its stopped doesn’t mean the losing fighter couldn’t have won, for example if the round ended one second before the ref stopped it. Anything can happen, surely we’ve all learned that by now.

I agree with every word of this. Which is exactly why i say it’s silly to complain about the Lesnar Carwin fight not being stopped.

When BJ Penn got in that Crucifix from Matt he could have just ate it for z2 minutes and came back and won. Those punches were weak
