The town council should give you an award for elevating them to backwater status.
Lots of towns in that part of Kentucky are made up of a road going up a creek with houses on each side of the road, until you get to the head of the holler. The bigger towns have creek confluences and more roads that go places.
It can be beautiful country.
So, there are at least 2 eastern Kentucky people on this thread.
Have you guys heard the term “swarping around”? I heard this phrase all the time growing up from my dad. It’s apparently a turn of phrase with limited geograpical use. Most likely Scots-Irish in origin.
Also used the playful insults of “shit ass” and “turd head”.
Maybe spjackson can hook you up.
I thought mister peabodys coal train done hauled it away??? oh wait that was muhlenberg county, nevermind
I just pictured that bugs bunny mortimer guy and bugs doing his hair
and “hey sis your pussy is real nice”
That’s racist.
I’m in Denver Colorado.
Ya’ll can go. Fuck yourselves.
No joke - my grade school went to Muhlenberg County to witness the world’s biggest shovel. Drove 2 hours, got out and looked at a huge yellow earthmoving machine, then got back in the bus and went home. Education. We were in southern Illinois at the time.
lol but at same time sorta probably cool lucking back now. did you at least get a long thing about mining and some back story?
I come from 3 generations of miners. I guess I was the fourth, but I bailed. We were underground miners. The world’s biggest shovel was used for strip mining, which is stripping off the top layer with a big bulldozer.
Didn’t need a backstory.
I meant the field trip, id assume they would have made a whole thing about it, at least about the people who sold out and let the man rape the land or whatever
end up in modeling?
I was. just goofing around as I recall your Houston thread, and this place should be not so chaotic.
Truly the first time I have ever used that word, and it was intentional to be a jerk.
Glad it worked out ha
Heard all of that growing up!
Rocky Dennis Mountain over here smh
