Watch Tucker Carlson’s interview with Geoff Shepard. He was a young lawyer for Nixon admin just out of Harvard knows watergate inside and out and is still sharp as a tack.
If you like what you hear, he also has a documentary out on watergate. Spoiler , much of what we have been told is total bullshit.

Nixon was before my time but when I was young a good friend that I respected was a huge Nixon fan and he wasn’t very conservative (Obama Voter). I am ignorant of all the facts surrounding “Watergate” but I would bet the same type of people (in the government) that foisted the “Muh Russia” bullshit against Trump are the same type of people that took out Nixon with Watergate. Nixon wasn’t establishment enough and had to be taken out.
The Kennedy’s stole the election from him. Without Sam giancana’s help, they wouldn’t have won chicago and by proxy IL.

Nixon was about as "establishment’ as could possible be. He was VP under Ike and had run for President (and lost) against JFK. His peeps got caught doing someting that (more likely than not) the other guys were doing too. The problem was not that he got caught cheating. The problem was he got caught LYING.
JFK was a literal deep state hit , Watergate was a figurative deep state hit much like Russiagate , Hinter laptop hiding and 51 intel plants lying about it, Lawfare vs. Trump etc.

He didn’t know about the robberies, even Bernstein admitted as much. Funny thing is he tried to cover up a robbery that wasn’t even done to help him , it was to mail the guys from CIA involved by those in another CIA faction) and to get the DNC call girl book so John Dean could get his girlfriend’s name out of it.
Nixon’s head guy leading the cover up was John Dean who became the hero for bringing Nixon down but alas he did was the three stooges step back as all the others went down. Funny how history is .
