Is the "Indiana Jones" Franchise any Good?šŸ¤”

I actually always thought Raiders was a bit dull and slow for what’s essentially a kids flick. Temple Of Doom is just dumb enjoyable fun a bit like the Return Of The Jedi of the franchise. Last Crusade is the best by a mile. I’ve never bothered with the recent stuff.

On the whole. Overrated franchise that has its moments. When you compare it to top level family action flicks like Ghostbusters & Goonies, they don’t really come close

Tell us you’re a fag without telling us you’re a fag…

3… The first one and third are definitely the best, and there’s arguments to be made as to which one is the best. But even while it doesn’t compare to those two, ā€˜Temple of Doom’ is solid. I’ll watch it if I come across it, but while I will occasionally active look to watch ā€˜Ark’ and ā€˜Last Crusade’, I can’t say the same of ā€˜Temple of Doom’.

The only redeeming element of ā€˜Crystal Skull’ is Marion. I refuse to watch the latest one.

Bethesda soft works made an Indiana jones game that is supposed to be great, very movie like. I couldn’t get into it, really because the Indy characters are so fucking corny.

Played rose of the tomb raider instead- that game does EVERYTHING and Indy game should have done. Mind you, rise of tomb raider is like 15 years old. Blows away most games out there, but scratches that Indiana jones bug.

Idc what anyone says. Kingdom was a great movie. It had the spirit of an Indy film which is what the newest film was lacking. I didn’t see it but I read the plot and ending it sounded like a miserable mess

You call him Docta Jones, doll!

I wore out the Indiana Jones trilogy as a kid. My mom got me all three VHS tapes for Christmas from McDonalds as part of a happy meal promotion they had.

I refuse to acknowledge the existence of Crystal skull.

Your loss

I love the new Tomb Raider games, but they’re very different from what Indiana Jones tries to be… The Indy franchise at its best, is a throwback to 1930’s adventure serials/films with all their cheese. People sometime criticize the Indy movies for their inherent cringe, but what they miss is those moments (strictly talking about the original trilogy here) are intentional and add to the movie’s charm. The new Tomb Raider games by contrast are really gritty survival games at heart. The two franchises really aren’t comparable.

Honestly, what really hurts ā€˜Temple of Doom’ is the girl… She was useless and annoying. I get she’s a throwback to the 1930’s ā€˜damsel in distress’ character, but especially after Marion who was very capable but still feminine, she was obnoxious.

Fair enough

Not lara’s milkers. I’m lazy take the gif you get.

That’s why they added Short-Round as the super capable sidekick. I feel Temple of Doom was very much meant to be as Bond-like as possible. So they put the hot girl/damsel in distress in there.

We can bully both of you retards.

I always had these up there with the Star Wars Trilogy, but I was surprised after rewatching them last year that they don’t hold up too well.

Raiders is the classic, but it’s definitely aged at this point. I’m not sure if a younger person would even understand its hype.

Temple of Doom was my favorite as a kid, but it’s really weird a goofy to watch as an adult. Its tone just isn’t consistent with the other 2. It throws the series off big time.

I remember thinking The Last Crusade was boring as a kid, but that’s the one that probably holds up the best. It’s solid.

Original 3 are the only ones that exist in my books. One of the best trilogies ever!!!
