Fucking lol at being worried about failed drug test. All of these motherfuckers are trying steroids, pro hormones, sarms, peptides of some sort.

Most of the talent is in the 135-170 range. MW is a fairly weak division right now, and LHW is arguably the worst division in the sport currently.
In this context it doesnt matter. We arent talking about p4p skills, we are talking about the merits of Jon fighting Poatan over Aspinall. You are saying Aspinall lacks elite wins while at the same time hyping up Poatans wins over guys that Toms opponents would steamroll.
Skill advantage? this is MMA not kickboxing. I like Poatan but he was finding himself in trouble from 40 year old Jans grappling. Tom, Jon, Blaydes, Jailton, Spivac and maybe even Tybura would most likely ragdoll him. And I think Gane at least would even outstrike him, potentially even some other guys at HW could. Its not like hes some slick, quick, agile guy either.
We would have to see. We can speculate all we want but until we see him at heavyweight we donāt know. Blaydes isnāt a very good fighter imo, Spivak is worse. A lot of heavyweight striking is amateur. The TKO rate is so high that guys get hesitant to go in for a take down. There hasnāt been a great mma wrestler at heavyweight since DC and Jon out wrestled him. Jon 100% out wrestles Aspinall. If Jon avoids his first round blitzes. Tom would be in for a long night. Jonās fight IQ and coaching would likely come up with a game plan that beats Aspinall. Tomās only way to victory is the knock out. Heās a damn good finisher.
Reyes and Gus have beaten the āgreatest fighterā.
Good to hear.
+āGreatest fightersā donāt have eye pokes as their #1 defensive strategy in a dozen fights, shit gets rough in there and Jon starts poking your eyes lol. What a great technique.
I guess you forgot jones vs Gus 2 when Jones trained for the fight. When you have 16 title fights they arenāt all going to look pretty. I have Jones winning all of the close ones that people said he lost. When Jones has a close fight it always seems as if he loses. At the end of the day Aspinall need Jones more than Jones needs him. Thatās why Aspinall wonāt stop talking about him.
The eye pokes are overblown. He didnāt win fights because of eye pokes and fighters should be treading the line between the rules. Itās a cage fight, not tennis.
THat fight ended due to groin injury as much as anything else, from a low blow by Jones about a minute into the fight.
The eye pokes certainly arenāt overblown (donāt make me post the receipts).
The only thing overblown here is Jon, by you, in this thread.
Blaydes is a weird one because on paper he has all the attributes to be very good, but he finds ways to lose fights he should probably win. I would be pretty shocked if he somehow shat the bed against Poatan though. Spivac isnt great but hes bigger and a better grappler than anyone Poatan has faced so far, I think heād handle him pretty easily honestly.
Mostly yeah, but size and power can make up for technical shortcomings to some degree. Poatan gets hit plenty, I would not be surprised if a big hitter at HW like Ngannou took his head off.
Gane I think could straight up outpoint him in pure striking tbh. Hes got the size/range, speed and hes actually technically skilled too.
Jon doesnt seem to be so confident in that. I think he knows that Tom (and previously Ngannou) had enough size, strength, athleticism and grappling ability to potentially keep the fight standing for extended periods, and that if they DID manage to do that heād be in deep shit because of their power and him being in the rare position of not being the bigger man.
I would think Francis would knock Poatans lights out. Jones would have to ware him down against the cage and wrestle Francis, gas him out. Jones went on record saying he would vacate the heavyweight title to fight Poatan. I think itās more than fear of Tom. He wants to capitalize on his final fights and take the easiest path. I guess you could call that ducking. Maybe after he fights stipe and Poatan he gets the itch to fight again and comes back to fight newly crowned champ Tom Aspinall. But who knows, Iām a Jon Jones fan but Im kinda rooting for Stipe. Hes just a good dude and I love an underdog story.
The disrespect of Stipe has been crazy leading up to this fight. Everyoneās talking about who Jonās gonna fight next. Nobody is talking about can Aspinall beat Stipe
Jones is an old man with a gut coming off shoulder surgery and fighting out of his natural weight class.
People just hate Jon and want to see him finally lose after killing all their favorites.
Tom has every physical advantage and is trying to hype a fight vs a smaller older fighter like a pussy.
Nobody gave GSP shit for sniping that MW belt vs one eyed Bisping then immediately retring to avoid Rob Whitaker.
Jones is the goat, he should do whatever he wants.
āNobody gave GSPā¦ā
Lol
My man, OSP took Jon the distance and it looked fairly even everywhereā¦feels like that might be the one fight that Jon was trying to fight clean, maybe.
Leave GSP out of this
And Georges got knocked out in his prime by a lightweight gatekeeper.
But yeah Jones had a close fight with OSP I guess lol
Iām just trying to point out that Jones has had a bunch of fights where he didnāt or barely looked like the better fighter. In his supposed prime.
Just saying that doesnāt really scream goat
That smaller older fighter has the belt in his division and is the sole fighter ranked ahead of him. Wtf is he supposed to do? hes beaten almost everyone else in the division. Pussy indeed lol.
They did. Not as much as Jon is getting but thats because GSP just left quietly whereas Jon is sticking around defending the belt against 40+ year olds who havent won a fight in years and talking tons of shit publicly.
I dont think any of Jons choices would have been an issue if he hadnt gotten the belt. The way him and the UFC are trying to keep up the pretense of him being the actual champ and this coming weekend being a real title fight is the main thing that pisses people off imo. He didnt earn the title shot, he didnt beat the actual champ, then he sat at home with the belt for ages and now is basically openly refusing to defend it against the most obvious challenger. If he just said ālook, iām 37, iām coming to the end of my career, I want a few fan friendly big money PPV fights here and there but I basically have one foot out the doorā he wouldnt have gotten anywhere near as much heat.
As for Stipe, he maybe is getting a little slept on, its really hard to say because we havent seen him for so long and hes old as shit now. I do think he will actually put up more of a fight than Gane and last much longer at least because he doesnt have the same holes in his game for Jon to exploit.
