Just had a window strike and it reminded me of a good thread to replicate.
I don’t know what this poor fella is. Merlin thinks a dark eyed junco, but im not convinced. Doesn’t have the sheen of a grackle either.
Pics aren’t great. He is alive and reviving now. Just had its bell rung. Have him set up off the ground so no snakes or other things can get to him easily while he recuperates.
Further digging, it’s a grey catbird. Still recouping. Hopefully it flies off by morning. Not sure if it will make it through the night or not.
You could soak some dry dogfood in water and lay it near it. Nutritionally complete for a bird and itll hydrate them. I assume you know this because you started a bird thread, but just in case youve never rehabbed a windshield warrior.
Anyone have anything they use to minimize window strikes? I tend to get a few a year that I know of. Probably I lot more I don’t.
Anyone use stickers or something similar? Do they work?

I get 2 or 3 window strikes a year…hate it…have to run out there before my dogs figure it out
If you don’t mind a messy looking window you can use this. It washes off. You’re not supposed to have empty window space greater than 4 inches wide. If you’re a good artist then you can draw something cool.
