Ivan Emelianenko sentenced to 1.5 years in prison

Lawyer Sergei Karpeev reported that the Stary Oskol City Court sentenced Russian fighter Ivan Emelianenko to 1 year and 6 months in prison for causing serious bodily harm.

“The Stary Oskol City Court sentenced Ivan to one year and six months in prison in a general regime penal colony. We will appeal the verdict,” matchtv.ru quotes Karpeev as saying.

A court decision was made regarding Emelianenko’s guilt under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which concerns intentional causing of serious bodily harm. In early November, information appeared that the athlete, who was 36 at the time, inflicted serious bodily harm on a man during a street conflict.

I feel that is a last name to be avoided on the street.

"During personal communication, the victim again began to swear obscenely at Ivan and his family, after which he received several left-handed punches on his face — the athlete held ice cream in his right. "

Haha! It’s like when Fedor was born he sucked all of the good DNA and Genetics out of their Mother and Father and those other two were left with scraps and former inbreeding genetics (“Cool, we will make you tall but you will look inbred and be dumb as fuck!”).

Alexander still has one of my favorite fights of all time I used to use to introduce people to MMA back in the day. The contrast between him and James Thompson at the start of the fight. Thompson, built, ripped, athletic, facials like he was literally ready to eat his opponent. In the opposite corner, Alex looking skinny fat, soft, hair mussed, 23 going on 43, looking like he literally just woke up. Fight looked like it was going to be a quick fight before the bell even rung, then it did. And it was, just the opposite of what it looked like was gonna happen.

Emelianenko beat up a friend from social networks and got a prison term. When hitting, he did not let go of ice cream

In the second half of 2024, it became clear that Emelianenko would not return to fighting anytime soon. He got into a criminal story, which his lawyer revealed in detail. In the spring, Ivan had a conflict on social networks with a certain friend (they met a couple of times in life), who insulted him. According to the lawyer, the victim is a repeatedly convicted drug addict.

When Emelianenko accidentally met the man in real life, he began to insult him again. In response, Ivan, who was holding ice cream in his right hand, hit him several times with his left. The result is a fracture of the facial bones and a criminal case for intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm.

“Ivan has been charged under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. A verdict will be issued. Naturally, only a guilty verdict, since there is no talk of Ivan’s innocence. This is a deliberate crime, a grave one. It is unknown what sentence the court will hand down, we will see. We hope it is soft, because the victim asked not to put Emelianenko in prison. It seems that they have reached some kind of reconciliation,” the lawyer said.

It was reported that the victim was ready to reconcile with Emelianenko for compensation of half a million rubles. Promoter Vladimir Khryunov (head of the REN TV Fight Club) admitted that he asked Alexander Emelianenko for this money, but he refused:

“I talked to Alexander Emelianenko. The topic of the conversation was the trial of his younger brother. The victim needs to be paid compensation of about half a million rubles. I asked Alexander if he would participate in this. He said: “No.”

Later, the brother explained his decision: “I have been making decisions for Ivan all my life. He must be independent and take responsibility himself. He is already an adult, he has a family, even if he is responsible for the incidents, it will be his responsibility.”

The court did not spare Emelianenko: he went to prison for 1.5 years, becoming the second of the three Emelianenko brothers to go to prison. Before him, Alexander had been there several times.

Even when Ivan won in pop-MMA, Fedor was not too happy: “I hope Ivan left his past life and will start a new one with this fight. I offered him help back when he was 15-16, but if he has matured at 35, so be it. I hope he has given up the lifestyle he had.”

I’ll bet he was wearing a GSOAV.

So weird. I figured punching someone in the face in Russia would be like saying hello here.

Yeah. The articles only provide the lawyer’s words. Maybe what happened was a bit different.

He’s got a different style
