Go back and re-watch his fights ā and tell me his fingers splayed in his opponents eyes doesnt allow him to get the advantage every time heās on defense.
My theory is, without that technique he likely would have been clipped at somepoint.
We all know fighters can turn from killer to going on a huge losing streak after one loss and losing their confidence.
So with Jones, I now give him a huge what if asteriks. Because just like Khabib stopping fighting early, Jones cheated his way to victory whenever necessary. So for me, I cant include him amongst the GOATS anymore.

Jon has been eye poking almost since his UFC debut and nobody said he was āduckingā because of that, since that doesnāt really make sense. The ducking meme is completely due to Aspinall fans cheering on their flavor of the month they think will beat Jon Jones.

I think we all saw that coming.
Highlight-reel fighter looks like he came out of a videogame. Winning in every way imaginable with all the physical advantages vs. a guy coming off his 3rd knee surgery who hadnāt fought in a year.
He is the current champion and Aspinall is the interim champion and no1 contender, but hes fighting a 42 year old who hasnt won a fight since 2020 instead and is now talking about fighting an old kickboxer who was competing at 185lbs a year ago.
What do you wanna call it if it isnt ducking?

If Tom was champ holding up the division, openly refusing to fight Jon and rationalizing why fighting Stipe or Poatan is actually better he would rightfully get shit for it.

I am a huge fan, back before you found MMA I called Jon as to be one of the greatest. Well I was wrong like many others. The greats are remembered for their fights not their ducks.
Its not that Jon isnāt the greatest his is selfish and wont display it over for the world to see and allow us to see him humbled.
I donāt make the rules, history does and you cant change that with your argument.

It isnt just Jon, theres been a succession of HW champs playing diva for a few years now. It started with Stipe and DC shutting everyone else out of the title picture for years while they had their old man eyepoke trilogy, then Ngannou making one title defence before leaving, now this.
