You can, though. You have to be able to articulate why you were in fear of death or injury. Someone walking around with their hand in their pocket, even while being an asshole, doesn’t reach that standard.
In this case, I’d be tempted to make the jury watch videos of Jones fucking people up as means of proving that I was in fear of death or injury.
