So Jones is ruled out because you THINK he would have lost to certain HW of a certain era but Fedor is good even though he actually lost to guys two weight classes below him?

Shit Anderson has an easy win (destruction) over the MW that beat Fedor. Na can’t go along with that. GOAT HW fair enough but that’s it.

I feel it’s an easy argument between the two imo.

Fedor was a naturally smaller man fighting bigger guys in a division that had the best HW’s in the world. We will never see that much talent in the HW division ever again imo. He went 9 years with out losing while being undersized.

Jon the naturally bigger man decides to cut weight to a smaller division where he can rehydrate to 235-240 come fight night and have a massive size advantage.

Also Jon had four fights in a row against Shogun, Rampage, Rashad and Vitor whom were all declining physically or were out of their primes.

I don’t blame Jon for that. He fought everyone that was available at the time. Jon arguably lost to Gus and Santos as well. That tells me he wouldn’t have gone undefeated in Pride against those LHW’s with those rules etc.

Prime Rampage, Shogun, Arona, Hendo, Liddell, Wandy, Bustamante, Lil Nig is a lot tougher than most of the guys he beat in the UFC.

Jon and the UFC have obviously cherry picked his HW reign so far. He wanted nothing to do with Francis or Stipe when he was younger.

Although the likes of Joe Calzaghe and Floyd Mayweather finished their careers undefeated, Anik thinks Jones (28-1 MMA, 22-1 UFC) has tested himself more than the boxing greats.

“I think, with respect to Joe Calzaghe and Floyd Mayweather, that Jon Jones has already pushed himself beyond those guys,” Anik told MMA Junkie. “Even if people want to denigrate the Stipe win because it happened at 42 years of age, I don’t think there really is anything left for Jon Jones to accomplish. But there is financial gain to be had.”

Floyd Mayweather won titles in 5 different weight classes so not sure you can ever say Jones has surpassed him in any objective way.

This is also coming from the guy who proclaims almost every current champion as ‘‘the greatest of all time’’.

No UFC champion deserves 30, 40 or 50 million pay day for fighting a no.1 contender.

In any credible organisation a champion would stripped for refusing to fight the no.1 contender.
