What ever happened to Ken Shamrock’s bare knuckle promotion Valor?
Ken Shamrock is the founder and promotional figurehead of Valor Bare Knuckle (VBK), a professional bare-knuckle boxing league:
- What is VBK?
VBK is a bare-knuckle boxing league that focuses on skill, technique, and the spirit of combat sports. The league’s rules include no gloves, no ring, no ropes, and a “bout circle” instead of a cage. Fighters are required to stay in bounds and use closed fists to prevent eye pokes.
- Ken Shamrock’s role
Shamrock is the promotional figurehead for VBK. He believes that bare-knuckle boxing can be safer than boxing with gloves and that the bout circle forces fighters to be more accurate.
- VBK 2
VBK 2 was held on October 27, 2023 at the UNF Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Shamrock hosted the event.
